Looking for a way to make the world a better place?

Consider joining the International Karma Yoga Day movement. It costs nothing, is open to anyone of any school. Open your heart and mind in the form of service of your choice. Choose what you want to make of the day; inspire yourself and your students. Help us start an international movement to help awake the general population to kindness, build recognition of the benefits of yoga, and bring students from all schools together conceptually for a day. Yoga means union. Let us work for union by making this small effort to bring the yoga schools of the world together, recognizing our similarities instead of our differences. Lets shine a light into our homes and communities, taking yoga off the mat and bringing fun, kindness and assistance to our own home towns and also reaching our across the world. If you or someone you know would like to help organize or participate please contact the international program facilitator, Russ Hazard, at wanderingadept@gmail.com and he will put you in touch with others working in your region.

acerolaWe know how all berries are delicious and healthy; some less accessable berries like the coji and acerola are gettig attention. The acerola berry is found in North and South America - more the latter than the former because of the tropical landscape where it flourishes with ease; also in Caribbean islands and many growers have managed to cultivate the acerola tree in Florida as well. Dark and deliciously red, this berry is also known as the Barbados cherry, Cereso and Antilles cherry among other names. It has a sweet and sour taste, much like citrus fruits. But what’s amazing is that has 32 times as much Vitamin C as orange juice, so it’s more powerful than your regular citrus fruits like grapefruit and limes. The acerola berry can be eaten fresh (or even frozen can be aded to smoothies, jams, syrups, jellies, fruit salads, friut pastries and teas. If you are and  inventive cook or baker, you’ll find numerous ways to incorporate it into your family’s food.

Day out of Time Celebration 25 July 2010 is this Sunday.  It is a universal day of forgiveness to recalibrate our selves and let go of the old in order to prepare for the new.  The 13-moon calendar is not just a solar-lunar orbital measure, but is coded to galactic timing cycles, most notably the Sirius cycle. Through the 13-moon calendar, the human consciousness can enter into a higher frequency, a galactic consciousness frequency. July 25th is not only the zenithal passage of our sun over Edzna in the Yucatan, northern home of the Maya, but more importantly the day is also correlated with the heliacal rising of the great star Sirius 7/26 as the start of the new galactic/solar year.

This year 7/25 also falls on Gurupurnima, the largest and most perfect full moon of the year, which in India is dedicated to the Guru.

Of all nations, we are the Rainbow people, so let us celebrate peace, art, science and spirituality, harness our energy and direct it to healing ourselves, our nation, our earth.
