The Yoga Teachers' Fellowship Brings together teachers and students whose passion is yoga

vrkasan-treeSthira sukham Asanam (II,46): According to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, asana is defined as a comfortable, steady seat. Sthira-firm, stable or steady, sukham -is a  state of ease, joy or comfort. Asana can also relate to our connection with the earth. This grounded attitude is particularly beneficial during the cold, dry and windy days of winter. There seems to be a general anxiety, a feeling of the ground slipping away from beneath us. During this excess Vata season, we are more likely to fall out of balance. If we are too pliable, we may drift aimlessly; if we are too rigid we may crack.

Our organic connection to the breath’s wisdom holds us stable and in alignment, present and consciously aware.
Our steady yet joyful connection to life becomes a moment-to moment adjustment, remaining true to our inner self, open to life’s karmic lessons, moving gracefully yet with sure feet.
